I wanted to photograph Dubai with a darker, almost cyberpunk feel rather than make a conventional skyline image. Since tripods weren’t allowed on the rooftop, I improvised by balancing the camera high on one of the balcony pillars for the HDR exposures.

The Dutch angle came at the last moment. It made the city feel a little less stable, and gave the view the sense of vertigo I was looking for.
